The gas-sensitive material used in the MQ-D3 gas sensor is a semiconductor material with low conductivity in clean air. When alcohol vapor exists in the sensor's environment, the conductivity of the sensor increases with the increase in the alcohol gas concentration in the air. Using a simple circuit, the change in conductivity can be converted into an output signal corresponding to the gas concentration.
