    In the energy storage industry, "safety" is the lifeline of development. In the early stages of thermal runaway in lithium batteries, due to internal chemical reactions, a large amount of carbon monoxide ($CO) gas is often released before any open flame. Therefore, compared to traditional temperature or smoke detection, carbon monoxide monitoring is considered a key indicator for achieving "active defense" in electrochemical energy storage (ESS) modules.
