The MQ-E3-C2H6S dimethyl sulfide sensor is a constant-potential electrolytic sensor. Dimethyl sulfide and oxygen undergo a corresponding redox reaction at the working and counter electrodes, releasing charge and generating a current. The magnitude of the generated current is proportional to the dimethyl sulfide concentration. The current can be used to determine the dimethyl sulfide concentration.
