The MQ-E3-C2H3CL chloroethylene sensor is a constant-potential electrolytic sensor. Vinyl chloride undergoes a corresponding redox reaction with oxygen at the working and counter electrodes, releasing charge and generating a current. The magnitude of the generated current is proportional to the vinyl chloride concentration. The concentration of vinyl chloride can be determined by measuring the current.
